Community Healthcare Worker Position


The East Carter County R-2 School District is accepting applications for the second year of a grant-funded Community Healthcare Worker (CHW).  This position will address student needs regarding social emotional health and navigate the complex student needs within the East Carter School District. Essential Duties will include assisting families with food insecurity, transportation, community referrals, benefits or assistance applications, and addressing individual barriers to student health and wellness. This individual will also track student attendance and behaviors and work collaboratively with district and building level administration to provide necessary supports to ensure student success.

 

This is a 10-Month position.  The Grant will end at the conclusion of the 25/26 school year. With appropriate education and/or experience in the areas of education or social work, this position could follow the teacher salary schedule or pay up to $50,000 per year and includes a highly competitive health-care plan and a retirement plan.

Special Education Teacher

The East Carter County R-2 School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Special Education Teacher.  East Carter is a rural school with a k-12 enrollment of approximately 650 students and has 4-day school week.  The district has a very competitive salary and benefit package for all staff.  The district has a strong technology program to support teachers and students in the learning process.  Ellsinore is centrally located between Poplar Bluff and the Current River and a short drive to Wappapello and Clearwater Lakes.

Applicants should possess a valid Missouri Teacher's Certificate in Special Education.  East Carter is looking for candidates with knowledge, experience, and expertise in working with students with disabilities, demonstrating competency of special education compliance and process, including development and implementation of high-quality IEPs.

Substitute Teachers

The East Carter Co. R-2 School District is accepting applications for substitute teachers and substitute para-professionals.  Subs are needed throughout the district in many different job types and age groups.  The current full-day pay rate is $115.00.  Successful candidates must complete a job application, have completed 60 or more college hours, pass a background check and possess an active substitute teaching certificate issued from DESE prior to being presented to the Board of Education.
