Pre-K Paraprofessional Job Opening

The East Carter Co. R-2 School District has an opening for a full-time para-professional.  The district is looking for personnel that will provide educational support by working directly with students as well as other duties as assigned under the direction of the licensed teacher(s), or by administration.  The initial placement of this position will be in the new Pre-K program.   However, relocation to another para-position and/or other duties is possible depending on district need.  The successful candidate is to have a minimum of 60 hours of post-secondary training or an Associate’s Degree or approved DESE Substitute Certification, as well as a Substitute Certificate through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.  The successful candidate should be able to sit, stand, stoop for extended periods of time and must also pass a background check and meet district qualifications.  This position offers a competitive wage and highly competitive benefit package.  This position also qualifies for the PEERS retirement system.

Pre-K Instructor Opening

The East Carter County R-2 School District has an opening for a Pre-K Instructor.  The district has approximately 650 students k-12 and has a strong technology program to support students and teachers in the learning process.  The District is participating in the Governor's $40,000 Teacher Base Program and offers a generous health benefit plan, with staff choice from eight (8) different plans, fully paid by the Board.  The district is located in an area with multiple recreational activities nearby, such as hiking, floating and kayaking.  East Carter County R-2 Schools will begin a 4-Day week beginning with the ’24-’25 school-year, with Mondays off.  The District point of contact is Ms. Kacie Kendrick or Ms. Keri Jameson (573.322.5620).

Business Teacher Opening

R-2 School District is accepting applications for substitute teachers and substitute para-professionals.  Subs are needed throughout the district in many different job types and age groups.  The current full-day pay rate is $100.  Successful candidates must complete a job application, have completed 60 or more college hours, pass a background check and possess an active substitute teaching certificate issued from DESE prior to being presented to the Board of Education.
