The East Carter R-2 Title I Staff hosted a family night for the kindergarten through second grade
 students and their parents on November 6 and for the third through sixth grades on November 13.  On
 the first night, each classroom gave a presentation about “Giving Thanks” for the audience.  A “Giving
 Thanks” essay contest was held for the third thru sixth graders, and the winners read their essays aloud
 to the audience on their family night.  After presentations were over, students had several fun
 activities to attend with their parents.  The different activities included create-a-snack table, bookmark
 art, reading bingo, make-and-take math table, a book walk, and computer lab fun.
There was a total of 325 participants.  Everyone had a good time.
