Tribute to L.W. Kingen

The high school library was dedicated to Laddie Kingen in September of 1996. His teaching career began in 1934 in a one-room schoolhouse at Aldrich Valley in Carter County, Missouri. Mr. Kingen was born in Ellsinore and attended school here in grades one through twelve. He was a member of the school's first graduating class in 1933.  Mr. Kingen retired in 1984 after a 49 year teaching career. Starting out as a teacher, he has done it all. Mr. Kingen was also principal of both the elementary and high school, as well as being a basketball and baseball coach, before becoming superintendent.
