Welcome to the Elementary Library Page.  In the elementary library our main goals are to promote  research skills, and the love of reading.

Every week we spend 50 minutes with K-6th grade classes teaching them how to use the  library, and giving them time to look for books that they  will enjoy reading. We discuss such topics as:

What is the difference between fiction and
               non-fiction books?
What is the Dewey Decimal System?
What kind of information can we find in a
                dictionary?

It is the hope of the Elementary Library staff to see each student succeed in improving their reading skills, and continue to enjoy the world of  books!

Extended Learning Time

Beginning this year the Elementary Library is being utilized for extended learning time in the mornings and in the afternoons.  Morning extended learning time begins at 6:45am until 7:40am, and in the afternoons from 3:15 pm until 4:15 pm.  Check out the link on the left that provides extra practice for reading and math skills!!

NEW INFORMATION

New to the library this year is some online resources.  In connection with MOREnet, the Missouri State Library has purchased the rights to use several new online research tools.  Below are links to some of the EBSCOhost database resources that are appropriate for elementary students and a free site for online reference material. These resources can also be accessed from home using a special login and password.  Contact your childs' teacher or the Elementary Library to receive this information.
