Safety City

On september 11, 2002 we had "Safety City", a large play group designed to help raise environmental print and child safety awareness. Guest speakers included Sergeant Elmore from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and Billie Kenney, RN from the Carter County Health Center. We discussed strangers, fire, and seat belt safety with the children and parents. Then we discussed the importance of environmental print, such as being able to recognize signs and symbols in the environment and the importance of reading and writing.
