LEWIS
AND CLARK
ASSIGNMENT
Congratulations! You have been
chosen to be a part of Capt. Meriwether Lewis and Lt. William Clark's expedition
team. You will accompany Lewis and Clark across the wilderness and discover
just what lies beyond the central United States. Upon your
return, your team is to give a full report to President Thomas Jefferson
of what you found on your journey.
Your mission on this journey is
to discover the following information:
1. Who accompanied Lewis and
Clark on the expedition?
2. What items did the team
take?
3. What path did the team
follow?
4. What landmarks did the
team discover?
5. Who did the team meet along
the way?
Use the links listed on the
resource page to research your information. Remember, there were
no states in this territory at the time of the expedition. In other
words, do not state that they crossed Montana...it did not exist.
RESOURCE
PAGE
Combine your information into a
presentation fit for a president...President Jefferson, that is.
After all, he DID find the funds for your journey. He has even stated that
he would like specific examples taken from journals. Use as many
visual aids as possible ~ you would hate to put the President to sleep!
Visual aids that could be used are a Power Point Presentation, maps, posters,
videos, journal samples, or even pictures.
