THE HUMAN BODY CORPORATION




INTRODUCTION:
You are a body organ or part, employed with the Human Body Corporation.  Due to recent cost increases, the Human Body Corporation has been forced to fire some of its workers.  Because you are terrified of losing your job, you have decided to make a power point presentation to the executives of the Human Body Corporation (your classmates and teachers), defending your position in the company.  Good luck-the company's future health depends on you!

TASK
For this assignment, you and your partner must research and make a Power Point presentation to the executives of the Human Body Corporation.  Your power point must:

  • be at least 5 slides, plus a title slide
  • contain at least on graphic per page.
  • answer the following questions: 
    •  What is your name?  What do you look like?  Where are you located within the Human Body Corporation?
    •  What department(s) [body system(s)] do you work with, in the Human Body Corporation?  What are 3 interesting facts that you have learned about your department(s) [system(s)]?
    • What is your job within the department?
    • Why are you an important employee of the Human Body Corporation?
    • What would happen to the Human Body Corporation if you were 'fired'?  (Some things to consider -- What systems would shut down? Would the body develop a disease?  If yes, how would this disease affect how the body functions?)
The Process

    Working cooperatively with your partner, you will: 

1. Read all handouts and directions given to you, to ensure that you completely understand what your task is, how to accomplish the assignment, and how you will be evaluated.

2.  Use the given links on Mrs. Moore’s Web Page to find information on you organ and the related system(s) that it works with.

3.  Keep any notes you have written and turn them in with the assignment. 

4.  Share your notes and information with your partner.

5.  Proof read and edit your finished product for errors in spelling, punctuation, and sentence structure, before presenting it to the Human Body Corporation (your teachers and classmates).
