Evaluation

Students were asked to complete a powerpoint presentation, budget (including graph), and a floor plan.  Scoring Guides are provided for each project.  Worksheet scoring guide is also included if individual grades were not taken.

Written reflections should be given as a final evaluation component.  The written reflection will allow the students to reflect on information learned and experiences throughout the webquest.  (Grading is teaching option)

Optional Constructed Response: Is it important for a person to have a place or space of his/her very own? Why or why not?

Labeling of X axis The X axis has a clear, neat label that describes the units used for the independent variable (e.g, days, months, participants' names).  The X axis has a clear label that describes the units used for the independent variable.  The X axis has a label.  The X axis is not labeled.
Labeling of Y axis The Y axis has a clear, neat label that describes the units  The Y axis has a clear label that describes the units  The Y axis has a label.  The Y axis is not labeled.
Title Title is creative and clearly relates to the problem being graphed. It is printed at the top of the graph.  Title clearly relates to the problem being graphed  and is printed at the top of the graph.  A title is present at the top of the graph.  A title is not present.
Neatness and Attractiveness Exceptionally well designed, neat, and attractive. Colors that go well together are used to make the graph more readable.  Neat and relatively attractive.  Graph appears quite plain.  Appears messy and "thrown together" in a hurry.
Units All units are described (in a key or with labels) and are appropriately sized for the data set.  Most units are described (in a key or with labels) and are appropriately sized for the data set.  All units are described (in a key or with labels) but are not appropriately sized for the data set.  Units are neither described NOR appropriately sized for the data set.

Math Worksheet
(If not graded individually)

CATEGORY 4 3 2 1
Mathematical Concepts Explanation shows complete understanding of the mathematical concepts used to solve the problem(s).  Explanation shows substantial understanding of the mathematical concepts used to solve the problem(s).  Explanation shows some understanding of the mathematical concepts needed to solve the problem(s).  Explanation shows very limited understanding of the underlying concepts needed to solve the problem(s) OR is not written.
Completion All problems are completed.  All but 1 of the problems are completed.  All but 2 of the problems are completed.  Several of the problems are not completed.
Mathematical Errors 90-100% of the steps and solutions have no mathematical errors.  Almost all (85-89%) of the steps and solutions have no mathematical errors.  Most (75-84%) of the steps and solutions have no mathematical errors.  More than 75% of the steps and solutions have mathematical errors.

FLOOR PLAN

CATEGORY 4 3 2 1
Labels & Features - Neatness 90-100% of the labels/features can be read easily.  89-80% of the labels/features can be read easily.  79-70% of the labels/features can be read easily.  Less than 70% of the labels/features can be read easily.
Scale All features on the floor plan are drawn to scale and the plan includes all items.  Most features on the floor plan are drawn to scale and the plan but the plan is missing 1-2 items.  Many features of the floor plan are NOT drawn to scale and the plan but the plan is missing 3-4 items. Many features of the floor plan are NOT drawn to scale AND/OR and the plan but the plan is missing 4-5 items.
